So, what does that mean? Unlike other fat reducing products, Kybella is unique in that the fat can not come back, or accumulate due to weight gain. Multiple treatments may be needed, depending on what you and your physician decide. Once optimal results are achieved, “touch up” treatments are not expected. Prior to Kybella, the only known effective treatment for the submental fat under the chin was surgery. Although diet and exercise can certainly help aid in the fat loss under the chin, it was not always an effective method due accumulation of the fat. Kybella is a synthetic form of deoxycholic acid. The acid occurs naturally in our body and helps breakdown and absorb dietary fat.
