Ingredient Highlight : Delivery Systems
Do you ever wonder if serums and moisturizers are actually effecting change in your skin? Most of our clients are ingredient savvy: hydration, vitamins, antioxidants, and retinol are on their beauty shopping list. So what is the difference between a drug store brand and cosmeceutical products? The answer is: the delivery systems – the way key ingredients are delivered.
The skin’s lipid barrier (mainly made of “fatty” substances) effectively protects our skin from environmental threats and trans-epidermal water loss. When water-soluble ingredients are applied on the skin it may be difficult for them to pass through the lipid barrier. On the other hand, oil-soluble ingredients may be too large or unstable to penetrate deeper.
Image Skincare’s advanced delivery technologies mimic the natural skin matrix allowing for active ingredients to be optimally absorbed. The Vectorize Technology tackles absorption issues: spheres, which are made up of up to 100 layers that encapsulate active ingredients such as peptides and stem cells, “peel off” like an onion to release ingredients over time. This is especially effective to deliver the so-called building blocks of the skin: peptides. They can block neuro-transmissions and thus reduce wrinkle depth, strengthen connective tissue and build collagen. Kemspheres release active ingredients in the deep layers of the skin. This is especially effective for retinol: the retinol actually gets to where it works most effectively with less irrigation for the client and increased retinol stability.
Advanced delivery systems ensure that products work more effectively, with enhanced stability, reduced irritation, and suitability for all skin types.
