DIY: The Ultimate Spa Detox Water
Besides sunscreen, keeping your body hydrated is the single best thing you can do for your skin. As a guideline, per day you should try to drink between half an ounce to an ounce of water for each pound you weigh. But when we try to stay away from sugary drinks, water can quickly get boring.
Infusing your water with fruits, herbs or vegetables changes up the taste and allows you to get some extra vitamins, antioxidants and other benefits.
Citrus fruits are a simple way to detox and add vitamins to your hydration. Add mint and cucumber for the ultimate detoxifying drink. Berries and pomegranates are powerful anti-oxidants, as are rosemary and thyme. If you want to go fancy, add melons, or even kiwi for a glowing complexion. Peeled and chopped ginger, as well as basil, have anti-inflammatory properties. Don’t be afraid to mix in vegetables either: cucumber, tomato, celery or even fennel will add a refreshing taste to water.
